FRANKLIN, MA and MURRAY HILL, NJ – August 13, 2015
Interactions LLC, a leader in speech and natural language technology solutions, today announced the expansion of its research and development division with the establishment of new technology labs located in Murray Hill, NJ and Manhattan. The offices house a fast growing team of world-class speech scientists and engineers that join Interactions’ renowned research group and will continue to expand to meet the demands of the market.

With extensive experience at the leading edge of speech recognition, natural language processing, voice biometrics, speech synthesis, and machine learning, the expanding division will enable Interactions to speed innovation, development, and delivery of award-winning products and solutions. This includes responsive customer care solutions, conversational applications, connected devices, and innovative service offerings, such as the “Interface of Things.” Best known for its industry-leading customer care virtual assistant solutions, Interactions strives to support the specific needs of each of their customers, offering highly customizable technology and a variety of delivery options.

“The team in New Jersey and New York is focused on our core technology and will enable Interactions to bring universal, accurate interfaces for any device, service or application to market more quickly than ever before,” said Mike Iacobucci, CEO, Interactions LLC. “This growth is a reflection of our continued commitment and drive to make significant advancements in speech and language technologies that will fundamentally change what’s possible in human-machine interaction.”

With its patented Adaptive-Understanding™ technology that seamlessly blends human and artificial intelligence, Interactions is the first and only speech and natural language technology company to achieve an industry leading 95+ percent understanding accuracy rate. With its leading virtual assistant solutions currently deployed by Fortune 500 companies worldwide, the addition of the research and development labs will enable Interactions to further enhance their current offerings and drive the deployment of a broad spectrum of innovative multimodal interface solutions across all markets.

The technology labs are led by industry experts Jay Wilpon, senior vice president of natural language research; David Thomson, vice president of speech research; and Benjamin Stern, vice president of software systems research. Opening both new offices presents strategic and symbolic advantages to Interactions. Manhattan is now the premier hub for speech, language, and machine learning technologies, while the community of Murray Hill is widely regarded as the birthplace of modern speech recognition research.

The creation of the technology labs was facilitated, in part, by Interactions’ acquisition of the AT&T Watson research and technology group in December of 2014. To learn more, visit www.interactions.com.
